Vincento 10year barrel aged
Liqueur fortified wines were the backbone of our early winemaking industry, having the ability to travel well and bring great pleasure to the consumer. Semillon, the great white grape of the Hunter, lends itself into making this liqueur wine, named after St. Vincent the patron saint of the wine grape grower. Tintilla Estate has hand-crafted and barrel aged this liqueur Semillon, produced using the ancient solera system which ensures a component of 10 year old barrel aged wine in each bottle and adding much richness and complexity to the final wine. The grapes were hand picked around 10-11 beaumé, the juice set aside to ferment in oak barrels being fortified with pure alcohol at a beaumé of 9 capturing the sweet essence and the acid backbone of the early picked Semillon.
